Léna Nussbaumer-Laghzaoui graduated from the University of Geneva in 2015 (BLaw) and from the University of Fribourg in 2017 (MLaw). The same year, she obtained her Certificate of Advanced Studies in Legal Professions from the University of Geneva. In parallel to her studies, she worked as a research assistant at the Chair of Constitutional Law of the University of Fribourg.

After an internship at the International Criminal Court (The Hague, Netherlands), Léna Nussbaumer-Laghzaoui completed her traineeship in the litigation department of the law firm Lenz & Staehelin.

She was admitted to the Geneva Bar in October 2019, and has since joined the team defending a plaintiff in the first war crimes trial in Switzerland.

Léna Nussbaumer-Laghzaoui joined the law firm Ming Halpérin Burger Inaudi in 2020 as an associate.

Since 2022, she teaches civil and administrative proceedings at the Institut Capacité en droit.

Practice areas

Léna Nussbaumer-Laghzaoui practices both counseling and litigation, mainly in the areas of private law (real-estate law, commercial law and employment law), criminal law (general criminal law and international criminal law) and administrative law.

She regularly represents individuals and companies before cantonal and federal Swiss Courts.

Professional affiliations

Léna Nussbaumer-Laghzaoui is a member of the Geneva Bar Association (OdA), the Swiss Lawyers Association (FSA), as well as the Association of Progressive Lawyers. Since 2021, she is a member of the Equality Commission of the Geneva Bar Association and the legal group of Amnesty International.
